      Terms

Acceptance of any contribution, gift or grant is at the discretion of Shalom House. Shalom House will not accept any gift unless it can be used or expended consistently with the purpose and mission of Shalom House.

No irrevocable gift, whether outright or life-income in character, will be accepted if under any reasonable set of circumstances the gift would jeopardize the donor’s financial security.

Shalom House will refrain from providing advice about the tax or other treatment of gifts and will encourage donors to seek guidance from their own professional advisers to assist them in the process of making their donation.

Shalom House will accept donations of cash or publicly traded securities. Gifts of in-kind services will be accepted at the discretion of Shalom House.

Certain other gifts, real property, personal property, in-kind gifts, non-liquid securities, and contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is restricted in some manner, must be reviewed prior to acceptance due to the special obligations raised or liabilities they may pose for Shalom House.

Shalom House will provide acknowledgments to donors meeting tax requirements for property received by the charity as a gift. However, except for gifts of cash and publicly traded securities, no value shall be ascribed to any receipt or other form of substantiation of a gift received by Shalom House.

Shalom House will respect the intent of the donor relating to gifts for restricted purposes and those relating to the desire to remain anonymous. With respect to anonymous gifts, Shalom House will restrict information about the donor to only those staff members with a need to know.

Shalom House will not compensate, whether through commissions, finders' fees, or other means, any third party for directing a gift or a donor to Shalom House.

Great news for our volunteers and customers! Our shops in Fishguard and St. Davids will soon be opening their doors again.
We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to spare an hour or two to help out. There is an opportunity for customer facing roles and backroom assistance.
Joining our team of volunteers will go a long way to helping us generate much needed income to support our palliative care services.
We are still actively supporting our patients and their families in their homes and on the phone even though Shalom House has been unable to open their doors quite yet. We are still working hard to make this happen.
Everyone’s protection is of the utmost importance. We have full risk assessments in place which we will discuss with you before you take on any role. The amount of customers allowed into the shops at any one time will be very limited.
Our current volunteers are a great bunch of people who I’m sure will tell you how rewarding it is to know that you are helping people in your local community when life is very challenging.
If you would like to help, please contact Nicola Wilmott for an application form. Our email address is info@shalomstdavids.org
Telephone number 01437 721 344. Leave a message if there is no one available to answer and we will get back to you.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Shalom House

Shalom House

Shalom House was set up in 1997 with the bequest of a house on Nun Street, St Davids. After a significant fundraising effort, the house was adapted in line with recommendations for a Hospice. Shalom House opened the doors to patients on 23 November 2007.
